There is a regulator on the stand that allows you to change the brightness level of the LED. The Roy is fitted with a polycarbonate diffuser. The diffuser body is adjustable around the vertical (180 degrees) and horizontal (270 degrees) axes. These adjustments make reading more comfortable.
