New 2019 Designer Flexform Zante is a seating system specifically designed for outdoor settings. It comes with two different seat depths which lend it amazing compositional flexibility. Aside from its outstanding versatility the sofa is also known for the ease with which the elements can be disassembled and then stacked for safe storage at the end of the season or in case of necessity. The beauty and innate strengths of iroko – a type of wood that is highly resistant to weather conditions – inspired the concept for a collection of outdoor seating pieces that in the finest Flexform tradition combine understated elegance and great comfort. And they are now ready to decorate decks and patios in a manner perfectly in keeping with the style of the indoor rooms. The base of the Zante sofa is made entirely of Okoume marine plywood perforated to allow better aeration of the cushions. The upper part is in iroko veneer to match the structure of the backrest and armrests which are made entirely of solid iroko with a unique design of hand-fitted interlocking strips of irregularly shaped wood. The sofa sits on a perimeter frame in austenitic stainless steel 316 which is lifted off the floor by nylon pads. With time iroko takes on a “weathered” look and its color tends to turn a specific shade of gray. This same shade served as inspiration for Flexform in its selection of iroko wood finishes which in addition to gray stain include a natural finish and a white lacquer finish. Both comfortable and casual the Zante sofa’s generously padded seat and backrest cushions make it invitingly comfortable and casual. To ensure optimal outdoor performance all the upholstered pieces are encased in a special lining made of breathable water-repellent fabric while the vast collection of outdoor fabrics guarantees excellent resistance not only to the effects of weather and the sun but also to chlorine and salt water. It is strongly advised that the respective covers be used to keep the Zante sofas in top condition and prolong their original beauty as much as possible.
